JAN. 15: Introduction to the Process Guided meditation, art-making, writing, sharing. These are the basics of this gentle, profound process. JAN. 22: ART and emotion Activate the power of creativity to bring healing to an aspect of your emotional life. JAN. 29: ART AND THE PHYSICAL SELF Explore a physical symptom, challenge, or illness in expressive art making. FEB. 5: Working with Polarities through visual art A powerful process, using the “mandorla” form (2 overlapping circles) to explore and work toward resolution of an inner conflict or polarity. FEB. 12: Mandalas Create your own “sacred circle” for healing and creative expression. FEB. 19: Bringing it all Together Integrate your experience into a finished art form and increased self-understanding.
“Art as a Healing Practice” is a gentle and powerful process, developed by Kathleen Horne, integrating guided meditation, visual art, writing and sharing/witnessing. The power of creativity brings healing and light to personal challenges, facilitating positive change. Fee: $35 per session. $180 if you sign up for all 6 sessions. Basic materials are provided. Participation in all sessions is encouraged. However, you may register for as many sessions as you like. Any level of art experience is welcome, including beginners, working artists, and people who think they “aren’t creative”. The atmosphere will be safe and accepting; no critiques or interpretations. Classes are designed to open you up to your creative flow, access authentic imagery, facilitate healing and well being, and assist you in developing a personal art practice. It is not art instruction, and it is not therapy. This series will repeat, beginning March 5, 2010 MANDALA for Healing and Creative Expression The Mandala (Sanskrit for “sacred circle”) is found throughout nature, and as an art/spiritual/healing
form within many cultures and traditions. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to this ancient and powerful symbol,
and will be guided in creating personal mandalas . All levels of art experience welcome in this accepting, sacred space. Benefits: creative renewal, stress reduction, centering and
peace, enhancing creative expression, joy, learning a new skill for personal practice and sharing with others…and a

ART AND HEALING SESSIONS Using
her "Art as a Healing Practice" model , Kathleen offers individual
sessions to anyone interested in creatively tuning in to their deep inner wisdom as a resource for health, wellbeing, and
more authentic, creative living. These sessions are not psychotherapy, but are deeply
healing encounters with the inner self. You may schedule one session, or a series. $50
per session (60-90 min. per session) Contact Kathleen to schedule CREATIVE
SELF RENEWAL for Mental Health Professionals 5 CEU's for LMHC, LCSW, LMFT This experiential
workshop introduces therapists and helping professionals to the power of the arts for self-renewal. We will focus
on dealing with the intense stressors of working in this field, and use guided art experiences, writing, meditations, and
music to process feelings, connect with inner resources, and gain fresh perspectives. It will be a day of creative self-nurturing.
There will be some sharing and witnessing within the group, and attention will be given to creating a safe, honoring and confidential
space for all. No art experience is necessary. Bring a pen and journal, and a sketchbook ( or several sheets of paper)

As the facilitator/moderator, I pose certain questions
and topics, and to encourage participants to pose their own questions and topics for discussion. An opportunity to come together,
share our skills and creative visions, in service of the power of the Expressive Arts to foster personal, community, and global

INTRODUCING EXPRESSIVE
ARTS TO YOUR CLIENTS 5 CEU's for LMHC, LCSW, LMFT This experiential workshop, for therapists and counselors, is designed as a follow-up to "Creative Self-Renewal
for Therapists". A brief overview of the field, materials and supplies to use, making appropriate decisions for specific
client needs, and effective ways to introduce the arts to clients in individual and group settings, will be presented. Participants
will be "learning by doing" in a small group setting. This workshop is a practical introduction to enhancing your
therapeutic practice with the arts, but should not be considered as training in expressive arts therapy. Prerequisite: "Creative Self-Renewal for Therapists (or equivalent) Will
be offered again in Spring 2010 SUPERVISION
& CONSULTATION Kathleen also offers supervision
and consultation to mental health professionals, and to Expressive Arts Practitioners. She is a
